Slovakian worker killed in industrial accident in Plymouth factory

Police have launched a joint investigation with the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) into the death of a 22-year-old Slovakian man who was killed following an industrial incident at the Interfish factory at Wallsend Industrial Estate in Plymouth.

The man was working in the freezer area shortly after 7pm on Friday 18 October 2013 when he was struck by a falling pallet and sustained fatal injuries.

A second man who is understood to have received an army injury, was taken to Derriford Hospital and later discharged.

Police are leading the investigation, known as Operation Keypad, to establish the exact circumstances and are appealing for anyone who may have information to come forward by contacting police on 101 quoting reference 672 of 18/10/2013.
