A big thank you has gone out to staff from Serco for choosing to support the Gold Dust Appeal at the annual Star Awards.

Every year, the Serco management team nominates a charity that benefits those using our services and after holding their annual event, the Star Awards, which recognises staff achievements, and holding a raffle, Serco proudly presented a cheque of £440.00 to the appeal.

Tim Smith, Contract Director for Serco, said: “The last person that you want to see in hospital is a child and our staff see poorly children every day. It will be great when the children’s wards become a much more welcoming place to stay and we are really pleased that we could help.”

Emma Cronin, Gold Dust Appeal Fundraising Manager, said: “The team at Serco have thrown so much energy into organising this raffle and raising money for our Gold Dust Appeal. I would like to thank everyone involved for not only donating money raised through the awards for a second year running, but also for the ongoing support throughout the year. We are incredibly grateful!”

The Gold Dust Appeal aims to raise £100,000 to create a bright, exciting and welcoming environment throughout the children’s and young people’s areas on level 12 of Derriford Hospital.
