The popular Mid Devon Good Afternoon Choir will present a charity fundraising concert at Crediton Congregational Church on Saturday evening July 20 at 7.30pm (doors open 7.00pm).

The choir is led by Jon Rawles with over 30 enthusiastic members who are busy preparing their programme for the concert which will support the charity Hearing Dogs for Deaf People.

The Good Afternoon Choirs were started by Bath-based Grenville 14 years ago and there are now over 30 across the South West of England and London with over 1,200 members ‘Singing in the Afternoon’.

There are no auditions to join and members of the Mid Devon Good Afternoon Choir come from in and around the area, they meet every Tuesday afternoon from 2pm-4pm at Crediton Congregational Church. Everyone is welcome to come along and meet Jon and the members of the choir.

The special guests for the concert will be the Crediton Strummers, who perform a range of genres of pop, rock, country, folk - nothing is off limits and with guitars, ukuleles, mandolins, harmonicas and squeezeboxes all get pressed into service.

Tickets are priced £5 and on sale from gac.ticketlight.co.uk – they will also be available on the door on the night of the concert.

Jon Rawles said;

“It is going to be a great night of music and we are absolutely delighted to be sharing the stage with the wonderful Crediton Strummers.”
