
Police investigate suspicious death in Plymouth
Detectives have launched an investigation following the suspicious death of a 43-year-old man in Plymouth yesterday [14 March].
Officers and paramedics were called to an address in Old Laira Road at 8pm and found the man deceased within the property.
A 22-year-old man from Plymouth was located in Tavistock a short time later and arrested on suspicion of murder. He remains in custody awaiting questioning.
Detectives from the Major Crime Investigation Team have launched an investigation to establish the circumstances of the man’s death.
Senior investigating officer DI Steve Hambly said: “At this stage we are establishing the facts surrounding this incident. We are urging anyone with information to contact us.”
The man’s next of kin has been informed although formal identification has not yet been carried out.
A cordon remains in place while scenes of crime officers carry out a forensic examination of the scene. House-to-house enquiries are being conducted today.
