Police hunt following Bonfire Night PCSO assault

Police in Plymouth are seeking the identity of a man who is alleged to have been involved in an incident that took place on the West Park playing field on Ringmore Way in Plymouth, sometime between around 4.30pm and 5pm on Tuesday 5 November. - Bonfire Night

It is alleged that a small group of youths were nearby and one offender threw petrol over an unlit bonfire with some petrol also being thrown over a Police Community Officer (PCSO) who was nearby. It is understood that the PCSO then attempted to detain the offender who assaulted the PCSO. The group of youths, including the offender, then ran off.

A 17-year-old man was arrested later that evening by police. He has been bailed until 8 January 2014 while officers carry out further enquiries.

Police would like to hear from a woman, who it is understood was in the vicinity of the incident, walking a dog.

Police would also like to hear from anyone who has any information about this incident.
