Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward following antisocial behaviour in the Coypool area of Plympton.

Between 6pm and 7.30pm on Thursday 21 December, a deer was injured on Coypool Road, Plympton after it was reportedly hit with rocks by a group of youths.

PC Greg Rendle said: “I am aware of comments on social media in relation to the sickening and vile act that occurred yesterday afternoon on Coypool Road.

“Not a great deal surprises me as a police officer but to think that some youths have deliberately thrown rocks at a helpless deer causing such catastrophic injuries has truly upset me and the numerous residents that have contacted me. Very sadly the deer had to be put to sleep by a vet.

“The area around Coypool Retail Park has seen a rise in anti-social behaviour and I am also investigating an incident that occurred at SCS on Wednesday evening 20th December where some youths threw milk around the store damaging some furniture.

“If anyone has information or indeed knows who is responsible for this act that they contact police via 101@dc.police.uk or by calling 101 quoting CR/110418/17.”
