Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward who may have seen a car being driven dangerously around Plymouth.

Officers received reports of a green Renault Megane being driven erratically around Beacon Park Road, Montpelier Road and Westeria Terrace around 10pm on 27 July.

The vehicle, containing around five people, was seen mounting pavements and doing wheel spins before it collided with two parked cars in Westeria Terrace.

The driver failed to stop for police and was then driven towards Ivybridge where officers found it abandoned near Deep Lane junction on the A38.

A 30-year-old Plymouth man was arrested nearby on suspicion of drink driving, dangerous driving, failing to stop after a collision, aggravated vehicle taking and property damage. He has been released on bail until 17 September 2015 pending further enquiries.

The Renault had been taken without the owner’s consent from an address in Ivybridge earlier the same evening.

Police are appealing for witnesses who may have seen the manner of driving and for anyone who may have information about the driver to get in touch.

Please contact police on 101 or email 101@devonandcornwall.pnn.police.uk quoting crime reference CR/052310/15.
