Police appeal after attempted robbery

Police are appealing for witnesses following an attempted robbery on Kerr Street, Devonport which happened at around 7.30pm on Friday 9 February 2018.

The incident happened outside the Ker Street Social Club. The victim, a man in his 30s, was approached by two unknown men as he was walking past the entrance of the club.

He was threatened to hand over money and his phone was taken before the offenders headed off in the direction of Devonport Guildhall.

The victim then shouted to the offenders that his phone was tracked, the men then threw the phone into a plant pot which the victim later recovered.

The two men have been described as both in their 20s, one of the men was wearing a grey hoody and the other had a dark jacket with fur on the hood and a dark beard.

Police are appealing to witnesses to the incident and to anyone who may have seen anything suspicious at that time.
