
Police appeal after armed robbery in Plymouth
Police are appealing for vital information following an assault and robbery in Plymouth.
The incident happened on Wednesday 13 December at around 10.30am at the Tesco Express on Alexandra Road in Mutley in Plymouth.
A security guard was assaulted with a metal bar whilst he was filling up an ATM cash machine outside the Tesco store. His injuries were not believed to be serious.
Three men approached the security guard, assaulted him, and took two cash boxes before fleeing the scene in a car. The vehicle made off in the direction of Edgar Terrace towards the Lipson area.
Police wish to trace a silver Vauxhall Astra, registration plate S758 LOD. The car may be missing a hubcap from the wheel on the driver’s side.
DCI Craig Mcwhinnie said: “We are keen to hear from anyone who has information about this incident. We are particularly keen to trace this vehicle in connection with the incident.
