Plympton's next Youth Ambassador announced
Molly Disney has been chosen to be Plympton's next Youth Ambassador.
The Hele's student was chosen for the role after a selection process at Harewood House last week.
The role was first introduced in 2017 in an effort to give a greater voice to young people in Plympton.
Speaking after her selection Molly said: "I feel very honoured to be the next Youth Ambassador to encourage young people to speak out and ensure that their view will be heard."
Molly identified mental health matters as a big issue among young people at the moment and feels it is important that they know where to go for help.
Molly is now looking forward to being invited to events during her year in office. She will formally take up the position at an investiture ceremony at Harewood House on June 16 when Plympton's next Stannator, Natalie Harrison, will also be sworn into office.
The selection panel comprised current Youth Ambassador Isaac Hudson, current Stannator Andrew Hill, Stannator-elect Natalie Harrison and Plympton Community Council chairman Rose Hamley. They interviewed a number of candidates who were interested in the role.
Stannator Hill said: "We had a strong group of applicants come forward and the interview panel had quite a difficult task choosing the winner
as all the applicants had something they could offer to the role.
Molly came across confidently and had ideas as to how she would like the role to develop with her at the helm and we look forward to seeing how she implements her ideas in the year ahead."
