GO2, organisers of  the Plymouth 10K, sponsored by Mansbridge Balment are urging runners not to leave it until the last minute to sign up for this year’s race, as numbers have already surpassed those of 2013, with just under five weeks to go until race day.

The Plymouth 10k, taking part on Sunday 2nd November, is the largest 10k road race in Devon and Cornwall, and is known for its fast, relatively flat, traffic-free route through the city centre. Entries are due to close at midnight on 13th October, unless the event sells out before.

Jamie Warren, Head of Marketing and Commercial at GO2, said: "The interest in this year’s Plymouth 10K has been fantastic, and we are delighted with numbers for this year’s event.

The city of Plymouth has really got behind the race. We are seeing more and more runners signing up for the challenge with a large number taking part due to their on-going training programme for Plymouth’s Half Marathon next year. Whether it’s as part of a team with work colleagues, or with friends and family looking to do something fun and rewarding together, the 10k is a great distance to set as a target to aim for.

“For all of our regular runners, we would highly recommend signing up now to avoid any disappointment. We had anticipated that the 2014 race had the potential to be really special, so book your place now by visiting www.plymouth10k.co.uk."

The 10k course will start on Princess Street at 08.30am, taking runners along Royal Parade, into Exeter Street and along Embankment Road, where they will then loop back on themselves for the return route finishing back at Princess Street.
