Work is set to start on a brand-new community in Tavistock, Devon, after local planners approved proposals from five-star housebuilder David Wilson Homes.

A development of 110 much-needed brand new homes was given the go-ahead by planners and means the beginning of a new community, and the creation of employment for local workers.

It’s expected that the construction and sales of the new homes will support a large number of jobs, including those for local people and subcontractors.

The new development, which will feature a range of three, four and five bedroom homes, will be called Embden Grange and construction work will start shortly.

“This is great for people wishing to settle in this sought-after area,” said sales director Sara Parker. “We think very carefully before deciding where to build new properties – and we know demand here is very high. We’re thrilled to be playing our part in bringing new homes to people in the area.

“The layout of this development has been created with a whole host of lifestyles in mind – from sole occupants and couples to growing families. This is very important to us. We know there is a need for new and accessible housing in this region, and our home designers have done us proud here.

“We’re expecting interest to be high thanks to the high quality of the homes and the fantastic location of Embden Grange,” said Sara. “It’s close to the beautiful Devon countryside while still being within walking distance of Tavistock town centre and just 16 miles from Plymouth.”
