Pedestrian dies following collision

Police are appealing for witnesses after a fatal road traffic collision on the A374 at Torpoint in which a woman pensioner was killed on Monday evening, January 25, 2016.

The collision occurred at around 5.15pm near to Anthony House when the pedestrian, believed to be a 72-year-old local woman was involved in a collision with a red Nissan Micra car.

The woman was treated at the scene by air ambulance paramedics, but died a short time later.

Police would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or been in the area of the A374 at the time.

Initial reports suggest a dog may have been involved in a collision shortly before the collision with the pedestrian, but no injured animal has yet been identified by police.
