Grab your torch, trainers and see Saltram in a whole new light this autumn.

Saltram Night Run, on Saturday 15 November, is a new event set up by the National Trust to get people to use the site in different ways.

Participants can run, jog, walk – or even creep – around the two courses and discover the magic of the park, riverside and woodland after dark. The 2km explorer course is perfect for families or groups and the 7.5 km adventurer course is for more experienced runners. There might be the chance to see some nocturnal wildlife including bats and everyone who takes part gets a glow-in-the-dark medal and goody bag.

The same evening is a Christmas shopping event in the candle-lit stables and courtyard. Visitors can partake in a locally-sourced hog roast and other refreshments.

Charlie Keene, Sport Development Officer says: ‘We are really excited about this event as it’s something completely new for Saltram and we really hope it will further engage our existing community and bring in new audiences.’

To book on the Saltram Night Run telephone: 01752 333500. Prices are between £7.50 and £15 with free parking. Book now and share the event on Facebook and be in with a chance to win a Petzl head torch
