Often times, life gets repetitive and it becomes too easy to get stuck in a routine. Although routines can be great for the purpose of keeping your life organized, they can also make you complacent and keep you from trying new things. For this reason, it’s imperative that you periodically make an effort to get out and do something new. This could be as simple as taking a different route to work, trying new foods or attending a social event once a month. Being open to trying new things ultimately helps make life a little bit more interesting and gives you something to look forward to. In light of this, in the article below you’re going to find a few new activities that you should consider trying now.

Netball

When it comes to activities you should try now, netball definitely comes up at the top of the list. For those unfamiliar with the sport, netball is a game that is similar to basketball and requires seven players per side. The game is usually played on a rectangular court with raised goal rings on each side. The primary objective of the game is to score goals from within a defined area by throwing a ball into a net. This is an ideal game for people who enjoy fast hand and foot work, competition, like a challenge and are good at working in teams. If you do a little research by looking for “netball clubs near me” you should see a number of netball clubs that you can join. Some are free, but most charge a small fee for you to participate.

Open Water Swimming

For those who thoroughly enjoy being in the water, open water swimming is an activity that you’re likely to find fun and a bit different. Seeing as open water swimming is typically done in oceans, rivers or seas, it is also an ideal activity for the nature lovers as well. Some general tips for swimming in open waters include starting small, using enough arm action, deciding on your breathing patterns, choosing your stroke and sticking to it, and being aware of jellyfish!  Remember to take as many precautions as possible and put safety first by being aware of the local weather forecast, being aware of your surroundings, resting, eating when needed and swimming within safe areas where you can easily get help in case of an emergency.

Canoeing

Another fun activity for those who are drawn in by beautiful landscapes and still waters is canoeing. This activity is one that requires good upper body strength as you’ll find yourself doing a significant amount of paddling. For those who are new to canoeing, it has several benefits such as boosting the cardiovascular system, improving upper body strength, and reducing body fat. You should know that if you want to paddle on Britain’s inland waterways, you’re going to need a license for a nominal fee.

Trying new activities can be a lot of fun if you’re able to push yourself out of your comfort zone and be open-minded. There are so many things you stand to gain by doing so, including the opportunity to fall in love with something new. When you finally do step out and try new activities hopefully some of the ones mentioned above will be on your list.
