Plymouth detectives are hunting for a burglar who stole a sick child’s medical records and precious family photos from a home in the city.

The offender entered the house in Ernesettle between 11am and 1pm on Tuesday 24 June while the owner was upstairs tending to her children.

They stole items left on the stairs in preparation for a family holiday, including medical records for the children, one of whom is seriously ill.

Also taken were a white Apple iPad Mini, a pink Sony camera and a substantial amount of cash which the family had been saving for the holiday.

The camera memory card and iPad contained family photographs which are of sentimental value.

Anyone with any information about the burglary is asked to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, quoting crime reference CR/084391/14.
