The Royal Shakespeare Company has announced the cast for the upcoming UK and Ireland tour of Matilda The Musical, which celebrates 15 years on stage in 2025.

The tour kicks off in Leicester this October and will visit 15 cities across the UK, including Bradford, Liverpool, Edinburgh, Manchester, and Cardiff—where the production will run over Christmas until 17 January 2027. One of the early stops is Theatre Royal Plymouth, where the show runs from 13 January to 7 February 2026. Tickets are now available: Book here.

Sharing the title role of Matilda are Madison Davis, Mollie Hutton, Olivia Ironmonger and Sanna Kurihara. The adult leads include Richard Hurst as Miss Trunchbull, Tessa Kadler as Miss Honey, Adam Stafford as Mr Wormwood, and Rebecca Thornhill as Mrs Wormwood.

They will be joined by a talented ensemble including Scotty Armstrong, Sam Holden, Portia Jefferies, Caiomhe Judd, and many others. The full cast features a mix of seasoned stage performers and exciting young talent.

The young cast also includes Rudy Bragg, Jacob Connor-Ashton, Charlie Cox, Takunda Khumalo, Brodie Robson, and more, with 20 child performers announced in total.

This acclaimed musical, based on Roald Dahl’s beloved novel, features music and lyrics by Tim Minchin, who recently made a surprise visit to rehearsals to meet the young company. The production is directed by Matthew Warchus, with a creative team including Rob Howell (design), Peter Darling (choreography), and Christopher Nightingale (musical supervision).

Still running in London’s West End, Matilda The Musical has played to over 12 million people in 100 cities and has won more than 100 international awards, including 24 for Best Musical. Final tour dates will be revealed in September 2025.
