Man suffers serious facial injuries in road rage attack

Police are appealing for witnesses after a motorist suffered serious facial injuries in a road rage assault in Plymouth.

The incident took place on the Marsh Mills Roundabout on the Plymouth Road, A374, between 4.30pm and 5pm on Wednesday 27 March.

The victim, a man in his 50s, suffered a broken nose, had three teeth knocked out and a further tooth was chipped.

He was travelling alone in a blue Vauxhall Astra when he was reportedly ‘cut up’ by a vehicle on the road from Plympton to the Marsh Mills Roundabout.

Both cars came to a stop and the drivers exited their vehicles and became engaged in conversation.

As the victim was speaking to the other driver, the passenger of the offending vehicle struck him on the back of the head, causing him to fall flat onto his face on the ground. The offending driver then kicked the victim - breaking his nose and knocking his teeth out.

One of the suspects is described as being a male aged in his mid-20s and was driving a black Mercedes with stickers on the back window and a double exhaust.
