
Man subjected to racial abuse in Plymstock
Officers investigating a hate crime are appealing for information after a man was subjected to racial abuse in Plymstock.
A 44-year-old local man was driving along Stanborough Road, in the direction of Plymstock Broadway, at around 7.30pm on Tuesday 19 April when he stopped to check on the welfare of a man using crutches who appeared to be in some difficulty.
He was subsequently subjected to offensive verbal abuse which was of a racial nature by the man he stopped to help.
The suspect is described as white, aged between 20 and 30, around 5ft 8ins tall with dark hair. He was wearing light coloured trousers, a t-shirt, a dark jacket and was using a pair of crutches.
PC Tris Calder, based at Charles Cross police station, said: “We would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or knows the man that fits the description given by the victim.”
