Lord Mayor's Day set to thrill crowds
This year’s Lord Mayor’s Day event sponsored by Rowes Honda / Rowes Suzuki will take place in Plymouth City Centre on Saturday 6 June between 10am and 5pm.
The annual event will welcome the new Lord Mayor into their role and will give the opportunity for the people of Plymouth to celebrate this occasion.
This year’s theme will be the 200th Anniversary of Napoleon on HMS Bellerophon in the Plymouth Sound.
Local community groups, organisations and charities will be able to take part in the day by taking part in the amazing walking parade, showcase on the stage under the Big screen or have a stall to promote and raise awareness. There will be a children’s activity area on Guildhall Square between 11am and 5pm, street entertainment by the Sundial and Place de Brest and some children’s fairground rides.
Plymouth University will be holding their ‘Set Sail with Plymouth University’ event at Drake Place on the University campus between 9.30am and 1.30pm. There will be plenty of entertainment for the family and the walking parade will depart from Drake’s Place at 1pm. To find out more details please visit Plymouth University website.
