A motorbike was brazenly stolen, from the back of a parked van, on Tavistock road, Launceston at 12:40pm on Saturday 17 May.

The thief, who wore a black jacket and carried a black and silver helmet under his arm, forced entry into the back of the van before making off with the Orange and Black KTM SX 125 off-roading bike.

This wasn’t a usual motorbike theft though, as worryingly the thief came fully prepared with a helmet, a can of fuel and a knife to cut the straps that were holding the bike.

The thief was later spotted on CCTV at around 1:45, riding the bike in the Lamerton area. Unfortunately, the KTM is an off-roading bike and as a result it does not have a License Plate Number.

Anyone with any further information are urged to contact Devon and Cornwall Police on their non-emergency number 101, giving crime reference number CR33909/15
