As part of Widey Court Primary School’s Christmas festivities, year three pupils hand wrote 90 letters to patients who are staying in hospital over Christmas.

There were many smiles on faces as the letters were given out across the elderly care wards at Derriford Hospital, by Sarah Carlson, Matron for Elderly Care and Juliet Richardson, Senior Sister on Monkswell Ward.

Sarah said: “I would like to say a massive thank you to Widey Court Primary School’s pupils for their letters, which have been handed out to our patients.

“The patients have been really pleased to receive these lovely hand written letters, which have been very much appreciated. One gentleman said it was lovely and that he will tell his wife, who will visit the school and thank the children.”
