Make your mark in the fight for every heartbeat and become a British Heart Foundation (BHF) Heart Runner by running, jogging or walking either 2km, 10km or a half marathon around the grounds of one of the UK’s most famous historic houses. Entries are now open for the 7th Blenheim Palace running event, which is taking place on 2 October.

Join over 3,000 runners to fight back against coronary heart disease, the UK’s single biggest killer. Last year, those who took on the challenge helped raise over £180,000 for the BHF’s essential and life saving research, which is improving the lives of those affected by heart disease every day.

The route gives Heart Runners a chance to conquer the grounds of the Blenheim Palace Estate, a route that is packed full of stunning scenery and jaw dropping views. With a range of distances on offer, the course is suitable for all ages and abilities, with runners able to run either a child-friendly 2km fun run, a 10km course or a half marathon at their own pace.

Leanne Postlethwaite, BHF Event Manager said: “We’re really looking forward to this year’s Blenheim Palace running event and hope to see many enthusiastic people eager and willing to take on the challenge.

“In the UK, more than a quarter of all deaths are caused by heart and circulatory disease, which equates to one person every three minutes.  It is responsible for over 15,000 deaths in the South West each year so we urgently need people to support us in our search for the breakthrough. It’s only by funding more research into how we can prevent, diagnose and treat heart conditions that we’ll see its burden decrease.

“A BHF event is the perfect way to support the nation’s heart charity, save lives and improve your own heart health at the same time. We want to see women, men, families and friends come together, on 2 October, to help us put an end to the suffering caused by heart disease.”

The BHF relies entirely on the generosity of its supporters, through fundraising events like the Blenheim Palace running event, to pay for life saving research. To support the nation’s heart charity, sign up to join the fight today; entry fees are between £5 and £28 depending on the distance and whether you are entering someone under 18.
