Library members in Plymouth can now read digital magazines for free using their library cards.

The Council’s library service has signed up to Zinio – a digital magazine download service that is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, anywhere in the world.

Anyone with a library card and internet access can use the service and there are 50 top magazines available to download, ranging from National Geographic Interactive to Marie Claire and Ideal Home.

Magazines can either be read online on your home computer, smartphone or tablet or – if you choose to use the app – you can read them offline and on the move.

Deputy Council Leader Peter Smith said: “This new service offers an easy, convenient way for people to read the latest edition of their favourite magazine. There’s no need to go and collect it from the shop each week or wait for someone else to finish reading it – and best of all, it’s free!”

For more information about the range of Zinio titles on offer and how to get started visit www.plymouth.gov.uk/zinio

If you’re not already a library member, it’s free to join. Drop in at your local library or join online at www.plymouth.gov.uk/libraries.
