Fatal two-car collision in Cornwall

A 75-year-old local woman has died following a serious collision on the A395 near Camelford in Cornwall.

Police and other emergency services were called to the incident at the junction of an unclassified road signed St Clether and the A395 at Hallworthy at around 11.10am on Tuesday 12 November. The collision involved two cars – a red Peugeot 206 and a blue VW Passat.

Paramedics attended the scene and the road was closed near to Kennards House, with diversions set up and drivers advised to avoid the road if at all possible.

Officers at the scene estimate the road will be reopened by 5pm today.

The 29-year-old male driver of the Passat  who is from Hampshire was taken to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth for treatment. Police say that there is no update on his condition at this time.
