Edenstone and lighthouse champion wellbeing
The Edenstone Group has strengthened its commitment to health and wellbeing by appointing a mental health champion and partnering with The Lighthouse Charity to deliver support across its developments.
Health and Safety Manager Sean Brill now also serves as the company’s mental health champion, ensuring that staff and contractors have someone approachable to talk to about personal or professional challenges. “The welfare of everyone who works for and with Edenstone is extremely important to us,” said Sean. “We want people to know they’re never alone, and that support is always available.”
As part of this initiative, the Lighthouse Charity has delivered its Make It Visible On Site sessions across Edenstone developments in Hereford, Clehonger, Coleford, Bleadon, and Sampford Peverell. These sessions focus on emotional, physical, and financial wellbeing, offering practical advice and raising awareness of mental health support in the construction industry.
The sessions have been well received by staff and contractors, sparking further plans to deepen the collaboration between Edenstone and the charity.
Sarah Bolton, CEO of the Lighthouse Charity, said: “We’re incredibly grateful to Edenstone for helping us spread our message. Creating a culture where people can talk openly and access support without fear of stigma is vital.”
Edenstone’s commitment extends beyond site-based teams, with senior staff including directors and managers across departments receiving mental health awareness training. This includes build director Mike Huddleston, technical director Richard Vine, operations director Chris Edge, and marketing manager Clare Price.
