Dynamic fit20 leadership duo set sights on 20 studios in 10 years
Duncan Attwood promotes Peter Eggleston to General Manager of fit20’s Exeter and Torquay studios
fit20 Exeter and Torquay is pleased to announce the promotion of Peter Eggleston to General Manager of both studios, marking a key milestone in the continued growth of the innovative fitness franchise across Devon.
Peter, who joined fit20 Exeter in 2019 as its first personal trainer, now oversees day-to-day operations at Exeter and Torquay while supporting the development of a growing team of personal trainers across both venues. With a Master’s degree in Sport and Exercise Psychology and certification as a Precision Nutrition coach, Peter has brought a unique blend of academic knowledge and practical experience to fit20 for six years, along with a deep personal investment in client success.
His promotion follows the record-breaking launch of fit20 Torquay, in October 2204, which is recognised as the fastest-growing new franchise in fit20 UK history.
Duncan Attwood, franchise owner for fit20 Exeter and Torquay, praised Peter’s leadership and contribution to the business: “Pete has been instrumental in the development of our studios since day one. His professionalism, integrity and genuine care for our members make him the ideal person to lead our team into the next phase. With him as General Manager, I’m confident we’ll continue to deliver outstanding results and service.”
What’s next for fit20 in the Southwest? Together, Peter and Duncan and the team have set an ambitious long-term goal: to expand the fit20 footprint across the Southwest with 20 studios in 10 years. They are already looking at strategic locations beyond Exeter and Torquay, with feasibility studies underway for new openings.
“Our mission is simple,” says Peter Eggleston. “To make strength training accessible, effective and safe for everyone, no matter their age, background or experience. Furthermore, fit20’s evidence-based approach proves that just 20 minutes a week can change a life. And we’re just getting started. I’ve witnessed time and time again how strength training reverses health issues and gives our clients renewed mobility. The client testimonials speak for themselves.”
Unlike traditional gyms, fit20 offers high-intensity, low-frequency strength training in a supervised, studio-based environment. Members train once a week for 20 minutes with a personal trainer, with no need to change clothes or shower. The results? Measurable increases in strength, stamina and confidence for clients of all ages.
With Peter now in this new post and fit20 Torquay flourishing within months of launch, the brand’s expansion in Devon is gathering real momentum. Businesses, health professionals and community groups alike are increasingly taking notice of the model’s accessibility and success. As Duncan notes: “This is more than fitness. It’s a movement toward health, strength and sustainability and we’re proud to be leading it from the Southwest.”
