Driver arrested following fatal coach crash

An Exeter man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after a a coach hit a wall in Cornwall killing two female passengers.

Emergency crews were called to the scene at around 1pm yesterday (Tuesday). The coach had been travelling on the A387 from the Plymouth direction towards Looe between Sandplace and Widegates when the incident occurred.

It was operated by Carmel and police believe it was being used for a trip organised by Age Concern from Exmouth.

The 57-year-old driver has been taken into police custody at Launceston. He was later released on police bail until 11 August 2014.
