Did you witness a serious assault in Ernesettle?

Police are appealing for witnesses to a serious assault on a man in Plymouth in the early hours of today, 5 January.

Officers were called just after 3.30am after reports that a man had been stabbed in the street in the Hawkinge Gardens area of Ernesettle.

The victim, a man in his 30s, received a number of knife wounds. He was taken to hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.

A 30-year-old man from Plymouth has been arrested on suspicion of assault GBH. He remains in police custody.

The suspect and the victim are believed to be known to each other.

Police are investigating and appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact them. They would also like to hear from anyone who may have dashcam footage or CCTV which may assist with enquiries.
