Scouts from Devon will be taking part in “Run to the Fun” at Mount Edgcumbe from 25th July. The camp will be held on the site that held one of the first camps run by Scouting in the South West and was visited by Baden Powell. The Scouts will be following in the steps of their founder. The last time Devon Scouts hosted a jamboree was in 1986.

Scout Radio will be providing a live FM radio service, JAMFM. Jamfm’s broadcasting from Mount Edgcumbe will begin on Saturday the 25th July, the public can tune in on 107.2 fm to listen to Scouts presenting their own shows.

Trevor Munro, Media Manager from Devon Scouts said “The Scouts are looking forward to a fun and adventure filled week, they will be trying various activities including a trapeze, Segway and Rafting. We’ve even teamed up with organisations such as Scout Radio so that we give young people new skills to try”

Trevor added “Teaming up with Scout Radio for the week provides young people with the opportunity to improve their communication skills, the Scouts could be the DJ’s of the future. “

Tune In and join in with our adventure.
