The countdown is on to Newton Abbot Racecourse's first Christmas Fayre

The countdown has begun to Newton Abbot Racecourse’s first Christmas Fayre on Saturday 8 December which will boast around 80 stalls, festive treats, Christmas trees, ‘Reinpony’ rides and much, much more.

The free to attend Christmas Fayre starts at 10am and runs until 4pm with a fun-filled festive day planned for visitors of all ages.

Over 70 exhibitors will be in attendance, selling an abundance of Christmas gift ideas including festive crafts, cards, jewellery, perfumes, food gifts, clothing, wooden gifts, home décor, toys and more.

For the younger visitors there will be the chance to take a ride around the Parade Ring on a ‘Reinpony’ – ponies with festive antlers – in conjunction with The Miniature Pony Centre Dartmoor for just £2 a ride and the racecourse will be running Christmas craft-making sessions to decorate gingerbread men and Reindeer food cones at just £1.50 per activity.

To help put visitors in the Christmas spirit, The Red Rock Harmony choir will be performing at 11am and 1pm, singing a festive selection of Christmas songs and carols.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a Christmas Fayre without some festive food to tuck into, so visitors are set to feast on a delicious array of warming treats in the Christmas Café including turkey rolls, hot chocolate, mulled wine and yummy mince pies.

If that wasn’t enough to tempt locals to pay a visit, the racecourse will be selling Dartmoor Christmas Trees’ range of beautiful low-drop Christmas trees from 4ft to 8ft.
