Snappy pictures taken by promising photographers made such an impact in Honicknowle they’ve been given funding.

The group Honicknowle Youth Click, put up boards displaying their work on the outside of the youth club and it prompted such a lot of good feedback, they decided to submit a bit for more funding for more boards.

They spoke to Councillor Peter Smith on the unveiling day for the original boards and asked if there was any way they could get funding to continue the project.

Councillor Peter Smith said: “They had to do a bit of homework, put costs together and then I would take a look at it. But they’ve worked hard and have helped brighten up the area and learn skills at the same time, so was happy to donate.

The young people worked with Fotonow to put the bid together and their efforts were rewarded as ward councillors Peter Smith and Mark Lowry donated £500 from their environment fund.

Two more boards are now being installed on the back wall of the centre that faces out to the main road and shops.
