Josephine M. Collingwood is a professional photographer with 20 years’ experience who has lived in and around Dartmoor since 1983. On Thursday 8 August 1pm - 3.30pm, she’ll be signing her Dartmoor tors compendium in the shop at Lydford Gorge.

The compendium combines Josephine’s outstanding photography with her detailed research of every named tor on Dartmoor including their history, archaeology and geology. Her new book, Dartmoor – A Timeless Landscape, the Dartmoor National Park official visitor guide, will also be available. It’s a taster menu for the delights of Dartmoor.

Sarah Hortop, National Trust Retail Manager at Lydford Gorge, is excited that visitors will get a chance to meet this local photographer: She said ‘Josephine manages to capture the granite tors in all their majestic beauty using both black and white and colour photography. In addition, she is passionate about sharing her knowledgeable of the geology and history of Dartmoor.’

Many books have been written about Dartmoor but this book is different. It brings together the features and history around each of the 155 named tors, and presents them as a compendium of information, illustrated with inspiring photography.
