Visitors to Drake Circus on Father’s Day, Sunday 19 June, will be able to see the Devon Freewheelers showcasing their life saving bikes outside of Drake Circus and raising money for their deserving charity.

The Devon Freewheelers are a team of 50 volunteer emergency vehicle drivers who are dedicated to providing a weekday out of hours service (17.00 – 06.00) and 24/7 weekend service supporting the NHS in delivering essential Blood, Samples, Medication and Donor Breast Milk to hospitals throughout Devon.

They will be collecting money to support their service which relies purely on donations and volunteers.

"We're delighted to be able to support Devon Freewheelers outside Drake Circus," said Drake Circus Centre Director, Greg Lumley. "Seeing them in action is hugely impressive. They provide a valuable service and Drake Circus is pleased to be able to support them on this popular day in the Centre."

"We are delighted to be one of the Drake Circus nominated charities this year, and opportunities such as this are instrumental in raising the public awareness of our service and provide an excellent venue to raise much needed funds." Neil Gardner, Devon Freewheelers.

Visitors to Drake Circus on Father’s Day will be able to take a look at the bikes and then hit the shops to find Dad the perfect present - perhaps a Drake Circus gift card, followed by a bite to eat in one of the centre's popular eateries, like Ed's Diner, Yo Sushi or the Next Cafe.
