Families in Plymstock were treated to a fang-tastic Halloween last week, with The Broadway Shopping Centre’s array of spooky activity.

On freaky Friday 27th October, local youngsters enjoyed taking part in the centre’s Sydney spider hunt. Those who found a hidden creepy crawly simply phoned the number attached to Sydney for the chance to win a £50.00 voucher.

Kick-starting Saturday’s celebrations, face painters transformed children into wicked witches, plump pumpkins and silly skeletons and shoppers took advantage of the free lucky dip.

Staff at the centre’s Peacocks also spooked shoppers by dressing up in their most gruesome attire for the special time of year.

The Sydney spider line was also open for the second day running, for those who dared to call it. The lucky winners will be selected from a prize draw on November 1st and will be rewarded with a £50.00 voucher for their brave hunting efforts.

Monstrous volunteers from Friends and Family of Special Children spooked the public all day, collecting for their cause in scary Halloween attire.

Centre manager at The Broadway, Mark Berry, said: “As always, our retailers got into the full spirit this Halloween and there was a real community feel about the centre across the weekend.

“The spooky spider hunt was particularly successful, with kids searching high and low across our stores for the prizes.

“We look forward to welcoming our shoppers in for yet more events we have planned in the coming months.”
