Police are appealing for witnesses following an attempted burglary at the news kiosk, in Bretonside bus station early Sunday morning (22 February).

Between 2-3.30am, a person has tried to gain entry to the news kiosk after cutting through two large bolts and padlocks in order to gain entry through the
shutter.

We suspect a power tool was used to remove the bolts which would have caused some noise, and the offender was possibly disturbed by the shops alarm sounding before he managed to gain entry to the newsagents.

There were lots of people in the area at this time and it is hoped someone may have witnessed something unusual.

If you were in the area during the break-in, or have any information relating to this crime, please email the police on 101@Devonandcornwall.pnn.police.uk or call 101 quoting police crime reference CR/012246/15.

You can also give information anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
