Plymouth's American-themed retro diner and bar is getting a groove on as they get ready to celebrate America’s Independence Day on July 4.

Based in Frankfort Gate, Holland’s Retro Diner and Bar, have invited people to join them for an afternoon of great live music, dancing and food.

Performances from local rock n roll band, the Alley-cat Kings, will start a 1pm and jive dancers will be swinging into action to show others a few easy moves.

The area will be decorated with American style bunting and the diner will be serving from their extensive menu, including the enormous challenge of the ‘New York, New York’ burger.

There will also be a history trail within Frankfort Gate leading to each signatory of the Declaration of Independence.

Tracy Holland, co - owner of Holland’s Retro Diner and Bar said: “We hope visitors and Plymothians alike will venture down to the West End to enjoy the entertainment. We have invited riders from scooter groups and Harley groups to join us and hope to see some of our Hotrod friends too. We hope to see plenty of the bikes, scooters and rods throughout the afternoon and early evening”

City Centre Company Manager, Stefan Krause added: “It is fantastic to hear that the diner is putting on this event. This celebration will be great for the community and will help to encourage more visitors to the West End of our city where they will discover that a lot of the independent shops have retro and vintage themes.”
