Beach lovers can take a bus from Plymouth straight to the seaside again this summer.

From Saturday 25 May families will be able to hop on board the number 54 to the popular beach of Bovisand, which overlooks Plymouth Sound.

The ‘beach bus’ will be operated by Target Travel and run until Sunday 1 September – daily during the half term and summer school holidays and at weekends only during school term time.

It will depart from the A11 stop on Royal Parade every hour from 10am until 6pm (except 2pm), returning from Bovisand hourly from 10.30am until 6.30pm (except 1.30pm).

Return fares from Royal Parade are £3.50 for an adult and £2.50 for a child. From Plymstock Broadway return fares are £3 for an adult and £2 for a child. Family saver tickets are also available at £7 for one adult and two children and £11 for two adults and up to three children.

The service, which is financially supported by the Council, will enable families to enjoy a great day out over the summer at the beach or walks along the South West Coast Path.

For more information see the Target Travel website or call 01752 242000.
