Janner Jam “made ‘ere in Devon” has launched a fantastic new scheme to raise money for a ground-breaking project that is getting thousands of school children in the South West out of the classroom and learning outdoors.

For the first time ever Janner Jam is putting their special edition Strawberry & Blueberry Jam on the shelves for sale following its huge success last year when it was launched as a ‘one-off’ competition prize with the Barbican Waterfront website.

As part of her charitable interests, Sarah Greep, owner of Janner Jam is kindly donating fifty pence of each pot of delicious Strawberry and Blueberry jam to Natural Connections, the largest outdoor learning project in the UK.

Natural Connections is working with forty schools across Plymouth, with more across the South West.

The aim is to significantly increase the number of school aged children experiencing the full range of benefits that come from learning in the natural environment. Natural Connections is part funded by Natural England, DEFRA and English Heritage, and is delivered by Plymouth University.

This partnership will be launched at Plymouth University’s Drake’s Café on Thursday 9 October at 2pm with the help of Year 2 pupils from nearby Mount Street Primary School. The youngsters will be enjoying a scone and Janner Jam feast.

Janner Jam’s Sarah Greep says, “I loved taking my boys out to enjoy the outdoors when they were younger and I’m thrilled to be supporting a project that encourages teachers and pupils in Plymouth to get outside more. The work being done by Natural

Connections is incredibly important – I’m really glad to help raise money for such an exciting project”.

Natural Connections Project Manager, Ian Blackwell, says, “We are delighted to launch the partnership with Janner Jam. It’s great to support a local food company that makes a delicious, locally-sourced product. It is also brilliant that money raised will directly help schools across Plymouth make the most of the learning opportunities that local green spaces offer.’’

The Jam will be stocked at Dutton’s Café near Plymouth Hoe and available online at Janner Jam where you can also see other stockists. While you are there why not listen to the Janner Jam Jingle!
