Jurassic Discovery to host exciting Discovery Talk on The Making of BBC’s ‘Walking with Dinosaurs’
Jurassic Discovery is inviting audiences behind the scenes of one of television’s most ambitious science series with a special Discovery Talk: The Making of Walking with Dinosaurs, taking place on Thursday, 8th January at 3.30pm.
The talk will be delivered by Jay Balamurugan, a TV producer, science communicator and paleoartist who worked on the landmark BBC series Walking with Dinosaurs. Jay will explore the creative and scientific journey involved in bringing dinosaurs back to life for a modern audience.
Audiences will hear first-hand how a large-scale, VFX-heavy science series is created from translating cutting-edge palaeontology into compelling, emotional storytelling, to balancing scientific accuracy with engaging, character-led narratives. Jay will also share some of the more unexpected realities of filming, including what it’s like running through forests in motion-capture suits while pretending to be a baby Triceratops.
Part of Jurassic Discovery’s popular Discovery Talks programme, the event is aimed at adults and curious minds with an interest in dinosaurs, television, science communication and behind-the-scenes storytelling.
Tickets cost £5 and can be booked online in advance.
