October is Wills Month – Leave a lifesaving legacy with Devon Air Ambulance
This October, Devon Air Ambulance (DAA) is inviting supporters to consider leaving a gift in their Will to help safeguard the future of its lifesaving service for generations to come.
One in three of DAA’s missions are funded by Gifts in Wills, a remarkable contribution that enabled 819 specialist responses in 2024 alone. These generous legacies ensure that expert critical care reaches those in urgent need across Devon, often when they least expect it.
Leaving a legacy is a powerful way to make a lasting impact. Even a gift of just 1% of your estate can help fund future missions, while still leaving 99% to loved ones. Every gift, no matter the size, helps Devon Air Ambulance continue its vital work across the county.
Yet, more than half of UK adults don’t have a Will - and many are unsure where to start. That’s why DAA is once again partnering with FreeWills.co.uk this October to offer supporters the chance to create a fully comprehensive Will for free. The service is simple, secure, and reviewed by a qualified solicitor. FreeWills.co.uk is also registered with the Fundraising Regulator and the Will Writing Society, ensuring peace of mind.
Jo-Anne Rigby, Head of Fundraising at Devon Air Ambulance, said:
‘Last year we responded to 2,459 missions - 819 of those were made possible thanks to gifts in Wills. Including Devon Air Ambulance in your Will costs nothing now, but it could mean everything to somebody’s loved one in the future. We consider every legacy gift a mission flown in memory of the person who made it possible.’
