With Warrens Bakery's arrival in London comes the news that Cornish pasties are having a renaissance. According to Olive magazine's 2018 trend report, which has just appeared in print, this long-time favourite is one to watch this year.

Officially recognised as the World’s oldest Cornish pasty maker, and one of the UK’s top three British craft bakeries, Warrens Bakery is opening three new stores in London: New Street Square and Leadenhall (early 2018) and the already up and running Devonshire Row store. These follow on from the artisan bakery’s successful recent opening in Ealing, and soon to be followed by many more, making for an exciting time of further development in Warrens Bakery’s 150-year-old history.

Adding an extra dollop of baking marvelousness and to celebrate their arrival in the capital, the well-loved craft bakery has partnered with baking star and recipe writer, Martha Collison. The youngest-ever contestant to star in The Great British Bake Off, Martha has been working alongside Warrens Bakery’s Head Baker, Jason Jobling. With both bakers bringing together the techniques of British craft bakery with an often innovative, modern twist, the two are much alike. Commenting on featuring in the influential Olive 2018 trend report, Jason who has been with the British craft bakery for over two decades says: "We're delighted that the craft behind this historic favourite is being recognised. The pasty is timeless and can be tailored to meet the tastes of everyone. We strive at Warrens Bakery to keep it innovative. Recently we have not only further growth our vegan range but also introduced our first ever gluten-free pasties, which have proven to be extremely popular, as well as many other flavours and varieties. New to 2018 we have launched the Pie Thin, signature to the Good Taste Range, offering a leaner, low calorie option by rolling a thinner pastry to sit alongside our existing range of savouries." Renowned for their creativity as well as their award-winning, handmade artisan pasties, it’s not only going to be an exciting year ahead for Warrens Bakery but also for the humble Cornish pasty.
