Plymouth City Museum and Art Gallery, the Elizabethan House and the Merchant’s House are all set for a fun half term filled with creative family activities and music.

Local folk band Tobacco Road will perform some of their favourite folk songs as visitors soak up the historic atmosphere in the Elizabethan House (2.30pm to 3.30pm on Tuesday 28 May) and the Merchant’s House (10.30am to 11.30am on Thursday 30 May). Standard admission to each property applies but there is no need to book in advance.

Meanwhile, children and adults can make, create and discover in two family-friendly workshops on Wednesday 29 and Thursday 30 May. The first, ‘A’Hoy There Me Hearties’, will be inspired by Plymouth’s maritime heritage.‘Re-Mapping Plymouth’ on 30 May will link to the Museum’s current exhibition ‘The Making of a Modern City’ and people will look at old maps of Plymouth before helping to create a joint, large-scale 3-dimensional map of the city.

Both workshops will run from 10.30am to 1pm with last entries at 12.30pm and are free, with no need to book in advance.

All four events are part of Plymouth's first ever History Festival, which features a massive programme of nearly 200 events running at various locations across the city until 31 May.
