Ahead of this year’s World Book Day (March 5), Jurys Inn Hotel Group is set to bring a complimentary children’s library to selected UK hotels, to encourage parents to keep the tradition of bedtime story-telling alive.

Recent studies have indicated that parents in the UK are spending increasingly less time reading to their children at bedtime, or skipping it all together. Additionally, the UK has seen an escalating trend of children being given tablets and smartphones to play with before lights out.

In a bid to encourage parents to bring back the tradition of bedtime tale-telling, selected Jurys Inn hotels across the UK will offer families staying with them a chance to cuddle up with a complimentary bedtime book bundle, each including a range of books for children of all ages, as well as a book for parents on how to help their children fall in love with reading.

Suzanne Cannon, Group Marketing Manager at Jurys Inn said:  “Recently, we have become aware that the well loved tradition of bedtime storytelling is on the decline, so we have introduced our complimentary book bundles in a bid to help bring this family tradition back.”

“For us, it’s very much about making this as easy as possible for families staying with us, and that is why we will be providing guests with us lots of wonderful books for parents and their children to get lost in.“

The Jurys Inn bedtime book bundles will be available throughout the month of March in  Jurys Inn Birmingham, Southampton, Glasgow, Plymouth and Derby.

Kicking off on Monday 2nd March, the week of World Book Day, guests can request to borrow a book bundle at reception. For more information, visitwww.jurysinns.com.
