After the success of The Blue Road (2017) Theatre Royal Plymouth’s Young Company return to the stage with THEY from Wednesday 22 – Saturday 25 August in the Drum.

This is going to be brilliant. Really brilliant. We can’t tell you what’s going to happen because we’re not exactly sure ourselves. But it’s going to be alright. Probably . . . The rest, THEY say, is history.

Directed by Theatre Royal Plymouth’s Staff Director Nik Partridge, THEY is an experimental and explosive new production created by, with and for young people. A show for anyone who’s ever wondered why we say what we say, what they really means and after all of that, what comes next?

The Theatre Royal Plymouth Young Company offers workshops and performance opportunities throughout the year for 5 – 21 year olds. The company work with professional practitioners to develop numerous skills for the stage or behind the scenes.

Nik Partridge said “This year’s Young Company show promises to be a really exciting, experimental show. As a starting point we’re looking at the things we’re told and how we challenge them. The show is being devised in conjunction with 13 brilliant young people, whose voices are leading our exploration of the themes in the show. We’re working with sound, lighting and form in a unique way; taking all the seats out of the auditorium and telling much of the story through headphones. It promises to be a bold, fun and anarchic reflection on how we become who we are.”

Tickets are priced at £9 and can be booked online at www.theatreroyal.com or by calling the Theatre Royal Plymouth Box Office on 01752 267222.
