Local man Mark R Wilson has released his first book, IRMA: Life Lessons from the Worst Storm in Atlantic History and is already receiving 5 star reviews.

A memoir which takes a hard look at how life, the ups and downs, lead him to the fateful day when hurricane Irma hit the Caribbean island of Saint Martin, raging 200mph winds ripping apart the building around him and facing certain death.

Mark tackles the big questions of life head on, to ultimately find his peace.

An inspiring book which does not shy away from the good or the bad of life.

IRMA: Life Lessons from the Worst Storm in Atlantic History, is a truly captivating tale and fascinating journey that describes how all of us can transform a life without direction into one full of passion, determination, drive, hard work and adventure.

When Mark finds his passion; finally life has meaning, he has a purpose, is driven and living the dream is in sight.

But will this be enough to mask the pain and mistakes of the past and keep the demons at bay?

Then Irma strikes and reaches into his soul, bringing past pains and mistakes to the surface and forcing him to confront problems long since buried.

Is living the dream really a dream come true – or could the answer to finding contentment really be much simpler?

5.0 out of 5 stars OMG I couldn't put it down

What a journey. So well described I was there with you. I looked up from reading and everything was calm but my head was full of far away places. This book has made my cry, smile, cheer you on and fear for your life. I've been taken to reefs, beaches, sunshine, the midst of a storm and utter devastation.

It has made me appreciate my own journey, how lucky I am. I now appreciate the time I saw Humpback Whales from a RIB, although at the time I was in the middle of a panic attack.
