Templars are like monk and warrior hybrids. They have the constitution and strength of warriors but also pack support abilities that heal them and deal a high amount of damage. The templars in Elder Scrolls are not so different. Let’s take a look at the various skill trees and abilities the templar has to offer.

Templar

Pros:

  • Great healing abilities for both groups and self
  • High defense

Cons:

  • Slow character
  • Forced to stay in a single place because of skills
  • Lacks area buffs

Class Identity and Theme

Templars are one of the strongest characters in ESO. They harness the power of the sun and bring ruin to their enemies. Their high defense combined with healing abilities makes them a great option for both solo and team comps. Think of them like Paladins but much beefier in terms of survivability and damage.

Skills, Passives and Ultimate

Like other classes, the templars also have three skill lines. Although they aren’t high damage dealers, templars are one of the best healing classes in ESO.

  • Aedric Spear- Most of the Templar’s offensive abilities fall within this skill line. Abilities like the Puncturing Strike hits the target enemy for a decent amount of damage while hurting others near it. The Templar also deals both physical and magical damage. Some of the passive in this skill line is super strong and increases your damage and defense simultaneously.

The ultimate ability, Crescent Sweep, is pure physical damage, and since it's quite cheap, you can keep casting it quite reliably.

  • Dawn’s Wrath- The Dawn’s Wrath skill line also focuses on dealing damage over time instead of dishing it out all at once. The Reflective Light ability for example deals a base flame damage to up to three enemies while applying a more powerful damage over time effect. Radiant Glory is also a popular Templar ability since it damages and heals the character at the same time.

The ultimate ability Solar Prison applies a string of damage over time on enemies while reducing their damage by 30%. Nearby allies can also deal magical damage to enemies by activating the Gravity Crush synergy.

  • Restoring Light- The Restoring Light skill line consists of mostly healing abilities. The variety and power of these skills have made the Templar one of the best healing characters in ESO since its launch. Rushed Ceremony is the best single-target healing ability in the entire game. It heals the caster for the same amount and one other ally at a reduced amount. Templars also have a Class Purge ability which removes negative effects on you and your allies, an especially useful tool in PvP.

The ultimate, Remembrance, is a  channeling skill that you and your allies use while granting everyone damage reduction. Note that you cannot move during channeling but you are immune to any enemy control effects.

The Templar is one of those classes that heavily rely on its gear for optimal performance. Farming materials for Elder Scrolls Online gold, therefore, takes a long time. Some players are even exhausted by the time they have everything set up. If you’re tired of farming as well, simply buy ESO gold or get Amazon game currency, which you need to finish the build and if you’re just starting out, you should get an ESO game key from Gamecamp first.
