Bingo night headlined by Mr Motivator is coming to Plymouth

This Autumn, a mad-cap brand of bingo will be popping in Plymouth thanks to a new partnership between national brand Mecca Bingo, and a special edition bingo tour that will be headlined by 90’s icon, Mr. Motivator.

The event – named ‘Bingo Lingo’ - was first launched in the summer of 2016 at Cardiff events venue, The DEPOT. It promises a new and exciting breed of bingo that features twerking, dance-offs, off-the-wall prizes (think cardboard cut-outs of Drake, David Hasselhoff and Barry from Eastenders) and random celebrity guests. In late 2016, a student from Cardiff even won a second hand car.

Now the 'Bingo Lingo' brand is leaving it's home at the DEPOT and touring Mecca bingo halls around the country, in a move that is part of Mecca’s ongoing strategy to evolve the bingo experience and bring in a younger audience. 18-25-year olds have made up Mecca's largest customer growth segment over the last three years.

The Mecca Bingo Lingo tour will visit Mecca Bingo venues in eight different towns and cities this October:

·       Friday 5th October – Mecca Bingo Plymouth
·       Saturday 6th October – Mecca Bingo Gloucester
·       Friday 12th October – Mecca Bingo Burton on Trent
·       Saturday 13th October – Mecca Bingo Leicester 
·       Friday 19th October – Mecca Bingo Cwmbran
·       Saturday 20th October – Mecca Bingo Leeds
·       Friday 26th October - Mecca Bingo York
·       Saturday 27th October - Mecca Bingo Newcastle

Zoe Bradburn, National Events & Entertainment Manager at Mecca Bingo, explained that the partnership with Cardiff's The DEPOT will help them attract a new, younger audience to their Bingo halls. She said, “It’s been fascinating to see how the DEPOT's Bingo Lingo format has engaged a new, younger audience with the game of bingo, and we can’t wait to see how people respond to having this new kind of bingo on offer at their local Mecca venues.”

The DEPOT’s Bingo Lingo Events Manager, Daniel Symonds, continued “We’re super excited to be touring so many new cities and towns with the Mecca Bingo Lingo tour; for people who may never have been to one of our events, they’re in for a surprise. We’re really going to pull out the stops to make this tour more exciting, off-the-wall and entertaining than ever!”

Tickets for the Mecca Bingo Lingo tour are now on sale, and cost between £6 to £10.
