Netflix have upped their prices, and not everybody is happy about it!

While many of us are slaves to the online streaming service, a number of people have unsubscribed from the service after yet another price hike. Social media is awash with complaints, but what are the alternatives to an evening with Netflix?

If you’re looking to seek enjoyment elsewhere, here are five ways you can replace your Netflix and chill...

Online Bingo

While the days of the latest Scandi crime dramas are over, there’s excitement to be had all over the Internet. One industry that is beginning to really thrive thanks to the number of variations, offers and the evolution of technology is online bingo.

You’ll find dozens of bingo games online and it really is resurrecting a game that was half lost to the bingo halls of the 1980s and 90s. It’s a fun game for all adults, proven by the resurgence both online and offline and with games available to play every minute of every day, it’s more than a suitable replacement to the excitement of Netflix. You might even win a huge jackpot too!

Board Games

Technology has seen video games conquer over the board game in recent times but if you’re looking to replace the tradition of sitting round the television binge watching box sets, then why not consider sitting around a board?

Many board games, like Monopoly or Cluedo can provide just as much tension and allow you to engage with each other much more than a TV show will offer.

It was recently reported that there’s been a boom in board game play as people begin to ditch the video game. We’re seeing more and more inventive games so it’s the perfect time to start rolling the dice.

Read a Book

Many of the biggest shows on Netflix and television start their lives as books, so why not pick up a copy and let your imagination picture the scene?

The likes of The Handmaid's Tale and Game of Thrones have been huge hits in recent years and they began life as novels.

Check out the best selling novels at the moment, or even choose the book over your next box set and settle down for the evening. You could even start a book club to make your reading more communal.

Take a Class

Rather than be glued to a screen each night, have a look at what’s going on in your local community and take a class or join a club.

It’s a great way to learn a new skill, make new friends and even completely change your life.

Facebook groups regularly promote things going on in the area and you’d be surprised by how many opportunities there are out there.

Painting

Perhaps not one for everyone, but fewer and fewer are painting these days but it proves to be good for you in a variety of ways.

There are many health benefits to painting, including relaxation, it sharpens motor skills and concentration and can also improve confidence as well as perseverance.
