Rock band Downfall need your votes!
Young up-and-coming rock band Downfall from Okehampton are needing your votes as part of nationwide competition 'Brand New Artist'. They take influence from Stone Sour, Black Stone Cherry and Black Label Society.
Along with 99 other acts, they are competing to win prizes to the value of 100k.
The band consist of 25 year old Karl Little on lead guitar and vocals, 18 year old Jake Hodgson on guitar, 15 year old Nathan Bostock on bass and 15 year old Mack Hodgson on drums. They have been together since spring 2013 and have been gigging since May of that year.
The competion is about finding an artist that is driven to succeed.
Bands must be promoting themselves, gigging and securing votes on several platforms.
Downfall have a voting app of there own as part of their website. Each email account can vote once a week for as long as Downfall are in the competition. The first stage is the month of April, stage two in May and the final stage in June.
Throughout 2013 and 2014 they have played over 100 shows. This included being finalists at Okehampton Battle of the Bands and winners at Varsity Battle of the Bands. They have played many local venues including The White Rabbit, The Junction, The Tiki Bar, the Cavern, Tavistock Wharf and Mama Stones as well as several of the areas popular music pubs. The band have also played at Calstock Million in 10 Festival, Calne Bike Rally, Yertiz Bike Rally and Chagstock Festival.
In December 2013 they released their debut EP, "Filthy Rich and Dirty Minded" which was recorded at Sound Gallery Studios in Exeter.
2015 has already been a incredible year for them. They are semi finalists in the Bristol Metal to the Masses and are already 10 shows into a very busy year with bookings already taken through to 2016. The band are just completing their first album, "Heavens Gain" which they are recording at Momentum Studios in Plymouth. The album is due for release in May in association with Factory Fast Records New York.
